ARTIST:
Timothy Rukavina is an American artist, who has been based in London since 1980. After college training in Minneapolis, he studied in the studios of James Childs and Thomas Mairs. This firm foundation has allowed him to move freely among the various disciplines of his art: still life, landscape, portraiture and mural decoration. In 1988 he received a commission from HM the Queen for a portrait of Dame Veronica Wedgwood for the Royal Library at Windsor, which has since been exhibited at the Queen’s Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery. He has also been commissioned to paint an official portrait of HM Qaboos bin Said, Sultan of Oman.
His work has been shown regularly at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and is works are to be found in the public and private collections throughout Europe, North America and the Middle East.
