A fine Spanish Vargueno cabinet on stand in the Moorish taste, beautifully inlaid both inside and out with bone in geometric patterns and stylised beasts to the sides. The inside with compartments and a fall front writing slope and a lockable document compartment at the top with the original key. The later stand is French and early XIX Century.
These cabinets were highly sought after status symbols in the XVI & XVII Centuries.
