FINE COPIES OF ARMCHAIRS BY THOMAS CHIPPENDALE

A pair of fine carved mahogany and water gilded copies of the Dundas armchairs. These armchairs were commissioned by Robert Adam for Dundas House in Edinburgh and executed by Thomas Chippendale in c.1765. Of exquisite quality with a return to Egypt theme, large hairy paw feet and acanthus decoration throughout and shell motif to the back rails. Upholstered in green velvet.
